Terms of Service

By creating an account or booking a hike you agree to these terms, which form an agreement between you and Couples Hiking Events.
1. Bookings & payment
Spots are confirmed once payment is received via Yoco. We may cancel and refund bookings if an event cannot proceed safely.
2. Cancellations & refunds
You may cancel up to 48 hours before an event for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by us.
3. Risk & assumption of liability
Hiking involves inherent risk including injury. You participate voluntarily and confirm that you are medically fit. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Couples Hiking Events is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your participation.
4. Conduct
Respectful behaviour is required. We may remove members who harass others, behave dangerously or breach park/reserve rules.
5. Intellectual property
The site, branding and content belong to Couples Hiking Events. You may not copy or distribute it without permission.

In line with section 44 of ECTA you may cancel an electronic transaction within seven (7) days of payment for a full refund, except where the service has already been performed (e.g. an event you have already attended) or for goods made to your specifications.
7. Consumer Protection Act
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
8. Cybercrimes Act
Unauthorised access to, interception of, or interference with this website, its data, or members' accounts is an offence under the Cybercrimes Act 19 of 2020. We cooperate with law enforcement and will report such incidents.
9. Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The parties consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate's Court having jurisdiction over the responsible party's address.
